Facebook Ads, Google AdWords, and Google Places Reviews

Firstly, let’s talk about Facebook Ads and Google AdWords. – The reason I recommend them both is due to them allowing you to target your ideal customer and focus your marketing dollars only on those customers. So, for example, if your dentistry is targeting your dental whitening products to women aged 30 – 55, who are interested in their appearances, sports, and health. You can target people like that. It is for a specific market—you are not advertising to everybody.

This really helps you save money because you are not paying to show your Ads to Joe Blow who chews Tobacco and doesn’t give a damn what his teeth looks like.

Another benefit of Facebook Ads and Google AdWords is the real time element. As soon as you put an Ad up it is visible to your target audience, and that is happening in real time.

You can get an Ad up in minutes as opposed to the traditional method, which could take you days, if not weeks, to get your Ad in the newspaper or the yellow pages.

You can also shut down the Ad at any time if you find the Ad is too effective, or you don’t have the ability to handle all the new clients you’re getting as a result of the Ad. So that real time element is extremely useful.

One more reason Facebook Ads and Google AdWords are awesome is the measurable aspect of the Facebook Ad and Google AdWords.

So what that means is, you can measure your conversion rate. You can get real figures to determine which Ads are most effective. You can also do A/B split testing – i.e. testing to show Ads that are working.

Now that we’ve talked about Facebook Ads and Google AdWords, there is another option that is really awesome. It is very rarely used; and underestimated for that matter. And that is the Google Place reviews. This is the third way to market your dentistry online.

The first thing people do when they look for dentistry, is go to Google and search for your dentistry. When you have a local business, people generally can put positive reviews on your site. If you have a lot of good, positive reviews from your existing clients who are happy with your services, it provides a tremendous free market for your dental practice. So you should encourage all your customers to do that.

And the second thing is that in some countries it is against the country’s policy for dentists to publicly advertise customer reviews. However, if you use Google Places reviews it is outside of their jurisdiction. They can’t control customers putting their own reviews on public websites. So dentists can benefit from this and they’re not doing this on their own. This, I find, is one of the most effective ways to market your dental practice online—especially for your local clients.

So there you have it! My top three ways to market your dental practice online.

All those methods are excellent. However, if you have no strategy, in that, if you don’t have any specific or coherent message to communicate using this medium you could be wasting a lot of money. In fact, you should use those media to the maximum effect I highly recommend.
